Military strategy cont.
As little as 2 machine guns
strategically placed would be able to eliminate an enemy infantry with ease in a matter of minutes. With these 2 machine guns being situated at opposite sides of the trench, they would then fire diagonally across the battlefield, of which the crossfire of these bullets would instantly kill anyone caught in the middle of these two paths. As well as this, machine guns would be fired at the from the waist down of soldiers so that once they fell, they would die slowly in the mud or if they were lucky, they would be shot whilst falling to the ground. This allowed maximum efficiency with the machine gun as it would be able to quickly dispatch of soldiers in a matter of minutes. Finally, the Maxim machine gun would be fired in small bursts to minimise the chance of the gun from overheating, as well as the chance for the shooter to fire more accurately with the gun. |
Machine gun crews would wear gas masks to protect themselves from incoming enemy poison gas attacks.
